Welcome to My Personal Website

This is a platform where I share my work, teaching materials, and photos.

My Career

I am a faculty member in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at Villanova University, where I teach courses such as Computer Architecture, Operating Systems, and Intro to C Programming. With a background in both research and teaching, I strive to bridge the gap between theory and practical application, equipping students with the technical and problem-solving skills necessary for success.

Teaching Approach

My teaching philosophy is centered on engagement, clarity, and humor. I believe that complex concepts become more accessible when presented in a structured yet dynamic way, and I enjoy making technical content approachable through real-world examples and interactive discussions.

Research & Interests

My interests lie at the intersection of computer security, Android permissions, and access control models. I am particularly intrigued by how we can optimize Android permissions for efficiency and usability.

Professional Growth

My journey in academia continues to evolve, and I am always seeking new ways to refine my teaching strategies, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to the field. With a focus on both pedagogy and innovation, I look forward to expanding my impact within engineering education and beyond.

Research

My research focuses on access control mechanisms and security in computing systems, particularly within the context of mobile platforms like Android. My research primarily focuses on understanding the various mechanisms involved in access control and developing efficient and effective methods to manage permissions in Android-based systems. I am particularly interested in exploring the interplay between security and usability in access control systems and how these two aspects can be optimized to create secure and user-friendly systems. For instance, my research on ABAC enforcement explores the dynamic application of access policies. I have contributed to the formalization of role-based access control (RBAC) in Android and examined URI permissions in mobile systems, enhancing the understanding of security frameworks for mobile operating systems.
